Propylene, Refinery Grade (RGP)
Refinery grade propylene (RGP) refers to propylene produced from a refinery which normally has a purity around 65%. The balance of the stream is mostly propane. RGP can be upgraded to polymer and chemical grades by fractionation in a propylene splitter. RGP can also be consumed directly to produce some derivatives including cumene, isopropanol, and oligomers.
