Pyrolysis Gasoline (Pygas)

Pyrolysis gasoline (Pygas) is the aromatic stream generated from a steam cracker producing ethylene. Pygas contains benzene, toluene, and xylenes. The pygas is either processed at the steam cracker into benzene and possibly paraxylene, or sold into the market to others for extraction or gasoline blending.
