Potassium hydroxide (KOH), also known as caustic potash, is a strong base produced by the electrolysis of potassium chloride. KOH is used in a wide variety of applications including soap manufacturing, food processing, potassium compound precursors including certain fertilizers, and as a battery electrolyte to name a few.
