High density polyethylene (HDPE) is one of the three types of polyethylene (PE), which is made from the polymerization of ethylene. HDPE has a high strength-to-density ratio and is used for plastic jugs (milk jugs), piping, geomembranes, plastic crates, and in many other consumer items.
