Monoethylene glycol (MEG) is the largest derivative of ethylene oxide. MEG is consumed primarily in the production of polyester melt, which is subsequently used in the production of polyester fibers, films, solid-state resins, and other consumables. MEG is also used in the production of antifreeze.
