Isophthalic Acid (Purified)

Isophthalic Acid (Purified)

Isophthalic acid is an isomer of benzenedicarboxylic acid, the others being phthalic acid and terephthalic acid. Isophthalic acid is used in the manufacture of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) soft-drink bottles. It is also used, albeit to a lesser extent, in the production of powder coatings and unsaturated polyesters. Isophthalic acid is produced by oxidizing meta-xylene.
