Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units (FCC)

Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units (FCC) are processes in a refinery that convert heavy fractions (gas oil) from crude distillation into lighter fractions via a circulating catalyst system that has a reactor and catalyst regenerator. FCC’s yield significant quantities of gasoline and diesel range materials, along with olefinic streams containing significant quantities of butylenes and propylene.
