Cyclohexane (CHX) is produced by the hydrogenation of benzene and is used almost exclusively for the production of caprolactam, adipic acid, and KA oil. All of these intermediates are utilized in the manufacture Nylon 6,6. Solvents contribute a smaller amount of demand.
