Ammonia

Ammonia is the simplest nitrogen compound containing hydrogen and has the formula NH3. It is produced by the combination of nitrogen with hydrogen using an iron metal catalyst under high temperatures and pressures. The majority of ammonia is used to produce fertilizers for agriculture. Ammonia is also used as a solvent, a cleaning agent, and as a precursor to many nitrogenous compounds used to produce many products. Ammonia has been used as a fuel, and is an alternative to fossil fuels and hydrogen.
