Polyacetal (Acetal Resin)

Polyacetal (Acetal Resin)

Polyacetal resins are used in a variety of applications that once would have used fabricated metal parts. These resins can be injection molded or, in some cases, extruded to make gears, cams, bearings, levers, and a variety of other mechanical parts. Polyacetal resins combine physical characteristics such as flexibility, abrasion resistance, stiffness, self-lubrication, and resistance to long-term exposures to heat, hot water, steam, and motor oil. These resins are made from acetic acid.
