Hexamethylenediamine (HMDA)

Hexamethylenediamine (HMDA)

Hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) is a six-carbon molecule with a chemically reactive amine group at each end. HMDA is 88% consumed in the nylon 6,6 chain, with the remainder used mostly in hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) for high-performance polyurethane (PU) paints, coatings, biocides, and epoxy curing agents. Hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) is exclusively produced via the hydrogenation of adiponitrile.
