Sodium sulfate is an inorganic compound that is highly soluble in water. It exists as a white powder and is mostly used as a filler in producing powdered home laundry detergents and in the paper pulping Kraft process for making highly alkaline sulfides. Sodium sulfate is produced either from natural deposits or as a byproduct of various chemical processes.
