Heptene is an olefin with 7 carbon atoms and the chemical formula C7H14. A commercial stream is a mixture of many isomers, and is used as a lubricant additive, a catalyst, and a surfactant. Heptenes are produced by polymerizing a mixture of propylene and n-butylene and isobutylene.
