Acrylamide is used to make various types of polyacrylamides for different industry segments. Water treatment includes flocculants and coagulants, drinking water production, and sludge dewatering. It remains a very strong driver for acrylamide growth, particularly in the developing world. Applications in the oil/gas industry include enhanced oil recovery (EOR), polymer flooding, oil drilling, production of drilling mud, treatment of drilling mud, prevention of water intrusion, and drag reduction.
