Tamsin Ettefagh

Tamsin Ettefagh Chief Sustainability Officer EVP Government and Industry Relations PureCycle

Tamsin Ettefagh has more than 35 years of experience in the areas of recycling and plastics recycling. This includes the implementation of a recycling collection program, running the recycling operations for a manufacturing recycling facility, purchasing raw materials and selling recycled resins for plastic recycling companies.

Prior to PureCycle, she worked as a Senior Consultant in an independent capacity and for major consulting firms in the plastics recycling space. In this role, she focused on strategy and implementation of advancements in process, primarily in polyolefins. She has consulted agencies, banks, and potential plastic manufacturers on market conditions, types of supply, and how to evolve and diversify markets for recycled resins.

Ms. Ettefagh has been an avid public speaker at conferences, symposiums, and in webinars for the past 25 years, and served on several Boards, including the Sustainable Packaging Coalition from 2019 to 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Texas A&M University.

Alexandra Tennant is the Executive Director, Global Recycled Plastics Service at Chemical Market Analytics (by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company).

Alexandra is responsible for content regarding market dynamics for recycled plastics within the Base Chemicals & Plastics group. As service lead for the Global Recycled Plastics Service, Alexandra monitors momentum across the recycled plastics value chain, including supply, demand, pricing, regulations, and brand strategies.

Ms. Tennant joined Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS in 2025 and brings over 15 years of experience across the energy and chemicals industry. She is recognized for her expertise in recycled plastics and PET/RPET markets. She has held positions in finance and consulting, including ExxonMobil, Wood Mackenzie, and, most recently, McKinsey & Co.

Alexandra graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with dual degrees in Economics and the History of Art; she later earned her MBA from the School of Management at Yale University.

Jeremy Wallach

Jeremy Wallach is a partner in McKinsey’s Boston office in the Chemicals Practice. He is a leader in McKinsey’s work on chemicals sustainability, including circularity and decarbonization, and helps lead the firm’s chemical insights microeconomics group. He has more than 20 years of experience advising management teams across regions on topics linked to strategy, growth, M&A, and sustainability.

Jeremy leads the firm’s work on plastic recycling in North America, including helping clients build businesses and evaluate opportunities in sustainable polymers. In particular, he has extensive experience in plastic circularity and chemicals sustainability. He has published perspectives and led speaking engagements in these areas in addition to providing client support on market demand, economics, feedstock availability, green premiums, system-level scaling opportunities, steps to reduce leakage into the environment, and carbon impact.

Mac Duncan

Prior to joining Ashland, Mac served for 7 years in the US Army as an Armor officer.  He is combat veteran who participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  Plastic News recognized him as a 2025 Notable Veteran in Plastics.

He holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an M.A. in Management from Webster University.

Bruce Hollands

Bruce Hollands is President & CEO of the PVC Pipe Association, a non-profit organization located in Irving, Texas representing North American manufacturers of sustainable, corrosion-proof PVC pipe for water, sewer, and irrigation infrastructure since 1971. The industry contributes to more than $14 billion of current annual output in the U.S. and supports over 25,000 jobs. Mr. Hollands is the primary liaison with all levels of government and regulatory agencies and is responsible for developing public policy, technical standards and establishing the Association’s strategic direction. Bruce is government relations, public affairs, and business development specialist with over 25 years of experience working with local government, water utilities, and related state/provincial and federal agencies in the United States and Canada. He
holds degrees in political science and history and is a member the American Water Works Association, American Society of Testing and Materials, and the American Society of Association Executives.

Ana Lopez

Ana Lopez is the Executive Director of Americas Vinyls and Global Sodium Sulfate at Chemical Market Analytics.

Ana Lopez is the Americas Director of Vinyls (PVC, VCM, EDC) research at Chemical Market Analytics. In addition, she is responsible for the global market analysis of sodium sulfate. She has held several roles across numerous product areas during her time with the company. With over 25 years of experience, Mrs. Lopez is a key resource within the business for understanding and insight into the chlor-alkali & vinyls sectors of the chemical industry.

Within North America and South America, she works closely with the chlor-alkali and vinyls industries, bringing her experience from the commodity markets. Her current area of focus includes contributions to the ‘Global Vinyls Report as well as primary input and insight for the World Sodium Sulfate and World Vinyls analyses.

Her prior experience includes covering caustic soda, chlorine, and hydrochloric acid. In this role, she contributed to the Global Chlor-Alkali Report and the World Analysis, Chlor-Alkali. Before joining Chemical Market Analytics, Mrs. Lopez spent several years with Pemex International Trading Company (PMI) in Mexico City in petrochemical commercial operations and market analysis, preceded by a few years with the EPC company ICA Fluor Daniel.

Mrs. Lopez has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master of Business Administration from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, both in Mexico City. She joined Chemical Market Analytics in 2007 and is based in the Houston office.

John Avolio

John Avolio Value Chain Manager Borouge International

John Avolio is the Value Chain Manager for Borouge International’s polyethylene business. In his role, he works closely with brands and retailers to help them meet their 2025 / 2030 sustainability commitments through collaborations with plastics converters and Borouge International’s deep applications development expertise. John’s technical expertise ranges across markets including food and beverage packaging, heavy duty sacks, and e-commerce and other secondary packaging. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering from Penn State (The Pennsylvania State University).

Ahmad Kawas

Ahmad Kawas Commercial Vice President, North America Packaging & Specialty Plastics Dow

Ahmad Kawas is the Commercial Vice President for North America in the Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) business segment at Dow. He is a member of the global P&SP business leadership team and is
responsible for driving strategic execution, top-line sales growth, innovation commercialization, customer experience, and commercial organization talent development.
Ahmad began his career with Dow in early 2010 as an account manager for Dow’s Basic Plastics business, covering the Middle East and Africa from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. His responsibilities included expanding the geographic presence of the Plastics business across the region with key customers. In 2012, Ahmad participated in a year-long Commercial International Leadership Development Program at Dow’s global headquarters in Midland, Michigan. He returned to Dubai in 2013 as sales director for Middle East, Africa and Turkey (MEA&T) for the P&SP business, managing growth as well as the hiring and growing of P&SP’s sales force across the MEA&T region.
In November 2015, Ahmad accepted the role of EMEA product director for the Solution and Gas Phase PE business based out of Horgen, Switzerland. In March 2020, Ahmad was named North America senior sales director, and relocated to Houston, Texas, for this role. Ahmad added the NAA commercial director for post-consumer recycled resins in 2021, working with various functions in P&SP to drive the mechanical recycling strategy in North America. Most recently, Ahmad was the global business director for Circular & Renewable Solutions in P&SP.
A strong advocate for inclusion and diversity, Ahmad is a global co-chair for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Employee Resource Group at Dow.
Before joining Dow, Ahmad worked for various petrochemical trading companies based in USA, Turkey and Dubai. He was responsible for polymer sales in Middle East and Africa as well as new business development with petrochemical suppliers.
Ahmad holds a degree in Accounting & International Law from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

Perc Pineda, PhD

Perc Pineda, PhD Chief Economist Plastics Industry Association

Perc Pineda serves as Chief Economist of the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), where he provides expert analysis on economics, trade, statistics, and industry research. Since joining in 2017, he developed the monthly plastics demand estimate, produced macroeconomic and industry forecasts, authored reports, and enhanced data dissemination. His insights are frequently cited in the media, and his research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. He also writes regular columns for trade publications and has delivered press and keynote addresses in China, Germany, and Mexico.

In 2022, he briefly served as Chief Economist and Vice President of Research at the American Financial Services Association. Previously, he was Senior Economist at the Credit Union National Association.

He brings extensive experience across academia, international institutions, and trade associations. He has taught economics at St. Francis College and the City University of New York and worked at the International Monetary Fund and the U.S. Dairy Export Council.

Pineda holds a PhD and MPhil in Economics from The New School, an MA from American University, and a Master’s in International Management from the University of Maryland. He is a panelist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s quarterly macroeconomic forecasts and a member of the American Economic Association.

Henri Gros

Carlo Barrasa

Previously, Carlo led the North American Light Olefins service, which provides clients with valuable insights into the regional market dynamics of cracker feedstocks, ethylene, and propylene. Prior to joining Dow Jones Energy, Carlo was a Senior Strategy Advisor at Anadarko Petroleum where he was responsible for guiding the company’s market strategy for its natural gas liquids business. After beginning his career in various downstream and chemical roles with ExxonMobil, Carlo then held senior consulting and research positions at IHS Markit legacy companies PFC Energy and CMAI. Carlo holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s in business administration, both from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sarah Marshall

Sarah Marshall is head of Global Marketing for Consumer Products at Borouge International, a global leader in polyolefins that brings together world-class assets, advantaged feedstock access and proprietary technology to deliver reliable high-performance polyolefin solutions. In her role, Sarah is responsible for leading global marketing, value chain, and application development strategy and execution for flexible and rigid consumer product applications.

Previously, she served as Interim Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, leading NOVA Chemicals’ Polyethylene Marketing, Sales, Technical Services, Customer Experience, and Business Optimization teams. She also served as Vice President, PE Marketing where she was responsible for driving the company’s market leadership strategy through its Advanced SCLAIRTECH™ technology platform and leveraging business opportunities throughout the value chain.

Marshall joined NOVA Chemicals in 1997, and since then has leveraged decades of experience in the plastics industry to serve the company in various leadership roles including Vice President, Sustainability and Director of Technical Service.

Marshall earned her Bachelor of Engineering degree at McGill University, Montreal, in 1997. She currently serves on the Plastics Division Operating Committee of the American Chemistry Council as well as a board member of the Flexible Packaging Association. She is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Nate McCrary

Nate is a seasoned professional with 18 years of experience in petrochemicals and polymers, including 14 years at LyondellBasell (LYB). He is currently Director, Brand Owner Business Development for LYB’s Circular & Low Carbon Solutions Business in North America. In this role, he works with downstream value chain partners, including convertors, brand owners and retailers to assess and implement material solutions that support the company’s goals and commitments on plastics circularity and GHG footprint.

Nate has a deep understanding of the plastics industry and the challenges and opportunities ahead. He is passionate about helping customers achieve their goals and is committed to creating solutions for everyday sustainable living.

Nate previously held positions in a range of functions at LYB, including Commercial, Strategy & Planning, and Manufacturing. This diverse experience makes him well-suited for his current role, where he is responsible for driving business growth and developing strategic partnerships.

Nate holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Houston.

Brian Kimberley

Grace & Co., leading the global marketing activities for our refining and polyolefin catalyst business with responsibility for strategic direction, offer effectiveness and organizational alignment for growth.  Prior to this role within Grace Brian served as Vice President Licensing and Services, responsible for the UNIPOL® PP process franchise, and as the Commercial Director for Specialty Catalysts across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Brian has more than 30 years’ experience within the petrochemical and refining industry working previously for BP then INEOS prior to joining Grace in 2015 and has broad experience across a variety of leadership roles in R&D, catalyst manufacturing, technology process licensing, global sales, technical service, business development and management.

Brian graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Warwick and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Imperial College, London.  After working in several European locations Brian is now based in Grace’s headquarters in Maryland, USA. He has more than 50 patents to his name and has published over 15 scientific articles.

Joel Morales

Joel Morales is the Vice President of Polyolefins Americas at Chemical Market Analytics.

Joel joined the company in March 2013 to cover Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) in North America. He began his career in 1999 with polyolefins manufacturer Solvay Polymers (later Ineos) in technical services and product development, before moving into field sales. After five years at Solvay Polymers, Joel moved into resin distribution sales for both Muehlstein and, later, United Polychem as a Product Manager, where he managed and sold polyethylene and polypropylene resins to various customer segments. In his most recent role before joining Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), Joel was a purchasing manager at Silgan Plastics, a major blow-molding and injection-molding plastics converter. He has brought a wealth of industry knowledge to Chemical Market Analytics through multiple stints along the plastics value chain.

Joel works closely within the Americas with resin producers, converters, and third parties covering the polyolefin markets. Joel speaks regularly around the world as a polyolefin market expert. He is the service leader of three market advisory subscription services: The Global Plastics and Polymers Report, the North American PE Report and the North American PP Report.

Joel graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a minor in psychology.

Anthony Palmer

Anthony J. Palmer is Vice President of Chemical Market Analytics (by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company), where he is responsible for the Circular Plastics & Chemicals Sustainability business within the Base Chemicals & Plastics group. In this role, he coordinates research and insight activities on carbon emissions and the reuse, reduction, and recycling of plastics. Prior to his current position, Mr. Palmer managed the Chemical Consulting Group at IHS Markit, where he led engagements for clients with interests in the business, technical, and financial aspects of the energy, chemicals, and related process industries. His expertise includes strategic business management, financial and acquisition analysis, technology assessment, capital project planning, manufacturing strategy, international project development, expert witness and litigation support, and material supply strategy.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Palmer worked at CMAI (acquired by IHS Markit in 2011), CPI Consulting Associates, Chem Systems, and Exxon Corporation. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from Fordham University in New York, U.S.

In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Palmer is an Adjunct Professor of Management at Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business Administration, where he teaches Strategic Management courses using the case analysis approach.

During a career spanning 30+ years in the refining and chemical industry, Steve has experience across the full spectrum of refining and petrochemical hydrocarbon value chains, covering various financial, strategic, technical, and commercial roles. Before his move to Chemical Market Analytics, Steve was Senior Manager of Base Chemicals at TOTAL Petrochemicals & Refining, Inc. In that capacity, he managed the P&L of the base chemicals business, including joint venture relationships, strategic guidance to the partnerships, plant operational interfaces, project development, and commercial responsibility for olefin and aromatic monomers, including styrene.

Before the Base Chemical Senior Manager role, Steve held increasing responsibilities within TOTAL’s Petrochemical business. The latest assignment was overseas, in Brussels, Belgium, where he was responsible for Global Aromatics’ long-term commercial business. The assignment included P&L responsibility and strategic project development for TOTAL worldwide. Before the Belgian assignment, he worked as manager of the US aromatics business. Before 2000, Steve was involved in the refining and fuels side of the Hydrocarbon chain, both for what was then FINA Oil and Chemical and for Star Enterprise (a joint venture between Texaco and Saudi Aramco), working as a process engineer, optimization engineer, fuels blending optimizer, branded/unbranded fuels marketing and supply lead, and in a business development role.

Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University in 1987 and an MBA with a focus on finance and economics from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000.
