Why Attend the Workshop?

Petchem Plant

Understand the Complete Value Chain

See the methanol industry end-to-end. Gain a foundational understanding of current and emerging production technologies, the broad spectrum of feedstocks, and how the industry is evolving to meet the needs of a “net zero” world.

Alternative Marine Fuel

Master Derivative Demand & Applications

Gain unparalleled market intelligence on the versatile role of methanol. Explore its traditional uses as a chemical intermediate and its rapidly growing importance as a low-carbon alternative marine fuel, a gateway to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and a power source.

Global Trade

Learn How Markets Really Move

Move beyond theory and into the real mechanics of the industry. Understand regional supply-demand dynamics, major global trade flows, freight costs, pricing mechanisms, and the processes used to build short- and long-term price forecasts.

What You Will Learn

Rather than focusing on isolated technical topics, this workshop is structured around four core learning modules that reflect how the global methanol industry actually functions.

The perfect start to the workshop and the foundation for the day. This session covers the key characteristics of methanol, the broad spectrum of production feedstocks, current and emerging technologies, and how those technologies are adapting for a future “net zero” world.

An in-depth analysis of varied methanol applications. Understand its use as a chemical intermediate (formaldehyde, acetic acid, methyl methacrylate, amines, chloromethanes) and an olefin feedstock. We will also explore its expanding role in fuels: direct gasoline blending, MTBE, DME, biodiesel, and its increasing use as a low-carbon alternative for ships, fuel cells, and isolated power generation.

Methanol is truly a global commodity—produced, shipped, and used in all four corners of the globe. Your instructors will break down global and regional supply-demand dynamics and explain the underlying structure of the industry, highlighting the major producers and consumers.

With about a third of methanol production transported to different regions to be sold, trade is critical. Learn how major trade flows are expected to evolve, how freight and duties impact the cost curve, and how global and regional pricing mechanisms work. You will also learn the process used to draw up short- and long-term price forecasts.
